Book Recommendation: Hockey Romance Edition

When I tell you hockey romance will forever have me in a chokehold I mean it with every fiber of my being. I LOVE hockey romances! If I’m ever in a reading slump (like I was all of January and February) I know picking up a hockey romance will fix me right up. I mean, who doesn’t love a man with a touch of possessive Alpha male who can handle his stick? If you’re into spicy reads with the best book boyfriends, banter, and FMCs who have these men on their knees keep reading for some of the best hockey romances I’ve read, and trust me I’ve read A LOT!

Weak Side (Bexley U Series) By S.J. Sylvis

Weak Side is part of the Bexley U Series but can be read as a standalone. After a mix-up in the Bexley Uni Admissions department, Claire Bryant finds herself in the male dorm rooming with the cocky hockey team Captain, Theo Brooks. With no other rooms available both Claire and Theo must learn to live together despite their differences, though somewhat reluctantly. When Claire discovers her long-time boyfriend has been cheating on her Theo proposes an idea: they fake date to make her ex jealous and to solve Theo’s puck bunny problems. What happens when lines begin blurring and feelings start forming?

Ice Bet (Bexley U series) By S.J. Sylvis

Main Tropes: Forbidden Romance, Coach’s Daughter, Hockey Player x Figure Skater, College Hockey

Ice Bet is part of the Bexley U Series but can be read as a standalone. Riley Lennon is the daughter of the coach of the Bexley hockey team and Aasher Matthews is your typical arrogant hockey player. But after Riley overhears a bet the team makes: who can sleep with the coach’s daughter first she begins to play her own game. She flirts just to make them think they’ve got her where they want her, but Aasher isn’t falling for it. With his future depending on a perfect season he makes his own bet with figure skater Riley: if Riley wins he confesses to his coach about the ice bet the team made and if Aasher wins she stays away from his teammates. Neither betted on falling for the other, but how will this forbidden romance survive?

Behind the Net (Vancouver Storm Series) By Stephanie Archer

Behind the Net is part of the Vancouver Storm Series but can be read as a standalone. Grumpy goalie Jamie Streicher is new to the Vancouver Storm team and needs an assistant to help manage his chaotic life. Pippa Hartley gave up trying for a music career after her ex crushed her dreams and gets hired to be the assistant for Jamie, whom she had a crush on in high school. Jamie learns how bad Pippa’s ex was in bed and is determined to prove to her she wasn’t the problem. Suddenly Pippa’s spark for songwriting is back and Jamie’s grumpy exterior begins to crumble. Will the pair rekindle the secret feelings they harbored for each other in high school?

Consider Me (Playing for Keeps Series) By Becka Mack

Main Tropes: Reformed Playboy, Golden Retriever MMC, He Falls First, NHL Hockey

Consider Me is part of the Playing for Keeps Series but can be read as a standalone. NHL bad-boy Carter Beckett sets his sights on Olivia Parker who wants absolutely nothing to do with the NHL star. When Olivia feels her walls start to crumble she’s determined to ensure Carter is the one begging for her to consider him. In typical hockey player fashion Carter is committed to proving to Olivia that he’s worthy of her heart. Will Olivia let her walls fall or will she remain behind them forever?

THe Graham Effect (Campus Diaries Series) by Elle Kennedy

Main Tropes: FWB/Secret Relationship, Hockey Player x Hockey Player, Grumpy x Sunshine, College Hockey

The Graham Effect is part of the Campus Diaries Series that interconnects with Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus Series. Gigi Graham has always been determined to step out of her father’s hockey star shadow by earning a spot on the women’s national hockey team and winning Olympic gold. Unfortunately, her timid nature behind the net is a major obstacle that she can’t overcome without the help of Luke Ryder, the new co-captain of Briar’s newly merged hockey team. Ryder desperately wants to gain a summer coaching spot with hockey legend Garrett Graham who he’s already made a bad impression on. Seeing they can each gain from working together they strike a deal, but one thing is getting in the way: their undeniable chemistry. Can the two hockey players accomplish their goals and ignore the sparks flying between them?
